  • Ads within images for Websites

Did you notice the ads on the images displayed on this blog? That's an innovation from Image Space Media. The author of a website or blog can build their page as they want, and in the end Image Space Media will add a short text link related to the image.

It's a great technology since the script used is supposed to recognize the picture on its own and then decide which ad to put on.

I'm curious to find out if you find these ad annoying or not. I mean I really think it's less annoying than most of what could be found on-line. Plus it might have a reasonable Click Through Rate.

    Google Wave: the test

I was finally invited to try Google Wave few weeks ago. You might want to see the previous article about Wave to understand the purpose of this product.

As Internet is my first tool to communicate, I was first quite disappointed because I couldn't reach a lot of my friends. This is the reason why it took me so long to write an article about the features and usability of Wave.

Google made a great job in keeping the layout quite close to what we would expect for e-mails. There is the folders menu, your contacts, the lists of messages and a window to read the current wave. The whole thing is very similar to Outlook or Thunderbird. So, it's very easy to understand the principles or to use it the same way as a simple e-mail account.

Innovative way to surf on Internet

Andreas Lutz designed a website where you don't need any mouse or keyboard to navigate. Why? Because clicking is so 90 (according to the author).

So, you're supposed to control your surf thanks to your voice and with gestures of your hands. I like the idea so much. Sure you can't use your body as a controller for daily tasks, but it's definitely a creative way to surf.

The main problem is that today, it's really impossible to use. Sure some stuff happened when I tried to move my hand, but I wasn't able to control it...

The on-line cocoon: reserved for the happy few

Internet has changed to become now the web 2.0. A place where you can connect with anyone, benefit from your social circle to do anything, a sharing place where the information is exchanged as fast as the sound.

As a kid from the generation Y, I'm completely enjoying it. But I recently realized that not anyone uses the web as I do. Finally our open place is just a cocoon reserved for the happy few who can deal with that a huge amount of information.

    When advertizers use flies...

During a book fair in Fankfurt, Eichborn made an incredible mode to draw attention. They used flies to carry their messages.

About 200 insects where used. The messages where sticked thanks to natural wax.

Do you find it awkward? No, It's brilliant! Watch the video:

Windows 7 advertising campaign on JCDecaux

I was hanging out with some friends near place de la Madelaine (Paris), when we saw this billboard on a bus station. It's basically an ad for Windows 7. But take a closer look. I know my pic isn't fantastic, but you might be able to see the screen, just in the middle of the billboard.

Yes, they did it. You might actually try some features of Windows 7 while waiting for the bus. Amazing!!!

You have access to some games which are supposed to emphasis the experience of Windows 7's touch screen feature.
